We work towards a sustainable future full of opportunities for our communities.

The Frailejones Foundation was established in 2019, driven by the desire to transform the lives of rural communities in the Coffee Region, promoting their culture and preserving the valuable natural heritage of the páramos. Inspired by the resilience of the frailejón, this organisation took shape thanks to the commitment of local leaders and international allies dedicated to the development of this region, sharing values such as sustainability, empathy, love, and collaboration.

Throughout its journey, the foundation has faced significant challenges, such as the need to overcome cultural and social barriers in a region affected by conflict, where many communities have been forgotten and their territories neglected. However, its holistic approach and constant dedication have turned these challenges into opportunities to empower communities, sow hope, and build a more equitable and sustainable future.

Our Mission, Vision, and Values

Towards a Resilient Future: Self-Sufficient and Sustainable Communities

To empower rural communities to achieve self-sufficiency and resilience, promoting sustainable development that benefits both people and the environment. We envision ourselves as a benchmark for social and environmental transformation, building a future where education, collaboration, and sustainability are fundamental pillars.

Inspired by nature and community commitment, we aspire to create generations of leaders who continue to strengthen their territories, ensuring well-being and opportunities for future generations.

The values of the Frailejones Foundation are the pillar that guides our work.
